What compassionate grounds? Just that you have urge to become a British Citizen and get that red passport?

What harm is it ever going to cause to you if you are not granted naturalisation?

I have lived in UK for more than 15 years, and I am not a British Citizen. It hasn't effected my life in any way. I know many many people who have lived here for decades without getting naturalised.

This was the page, I was referring too as well.

Quote from UKBA website,

"If you have been absent from the UK for between 101 and 180 days in total during the final year, we normally disregard the absence if:

you have met the residence requirements over the qualifying period "AS I SAID I AM NOT OUT OF COUNTRY FOR MORE THAN 100 DAYS IN LAST 5 YEARS AND 8 MONTHS, SO I GUESS I SHOULD BE OK. PLEASE CONFIRM; and
you have demonstrated a link with the UK by establishing your home, family and a large part of your estate here. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?"
Best would be to apply 9 months after your return. This way you will meet the residential requirements (including less than 90 days in the 12 months before applying). It would be difficult to claim you have establish your home and family in the UK after spending a few months abroad just before applying.

And Chandu bhaiyya, before you start fuming at me thinking I try to put you down, let me tell you, that the purpose of my last post was to get the message across that there is no such compassionate grounds for naturalisation.

So, either do not go away for so long to India, or do what Jambo says.

Take your pick, choice is your's.

No. You are wrong.

I suggest you wait after your return.
