Hi Amir

Later on when your application will be under process by ECO they will not give you any status of application as they will reply with No current status at that time to get the status people escalate their application so they will pass ur to higher department to tell u status. After 30 working days its worth to escalate the application. I also escalate my application today , for that we did call to ukvi and then they send us email to ask for additional details to escalate issue.
I don't think they is Any way to get early results.
Hope this mAke sense.

AMir Brother,

There is no application such as straight forward application and I have used that word because we got visa without any issues.

Every case is different but I always follow guidelines from UKBA and advise everybody to read them carefully

Following guide is used to gather paperwork in our case:

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... lement.pdf

I know some dont agree with me here but provide as much as paperwork you can (financial + relationship) and make sure sponsor pay slips/bank statements are original or attested copies with a cover letter from issuing authority.

Hi Raju,

I have sent them couple of emails but got the standard reply from them saying

Dear XXXXXXXX,

Thank you for contacting the UK Visas and Immigration International Enquiry
Service.

We understand that you would like to know about the current status of your
visa application. I have tracked the status and found that your
application has not yet been assessed by an Entry Clearance Officer (ECO).
Each application is assessed individually and processing times may vary,
hence applicants are requested to be patient whilst processing is
completed. Your visa application centre or the entry clearance officer
(ECO) will contact you once a decision has been made or, if necessary,
during the consideration of your application.

Though we try our best to complete the visa application process in 15
working days, each application is subject to an individual assessment and
processing times may vary, hence applicants are requested to be patient and
wait for the processing to be completed. You can check how long you'll have
to wait for a decision on your visa application in your country (if you
applied from outside the UK) by entering your details at the following
link: https://www.gov.uk/visa-processing-times. Please note that the actual
processing times may vary depending on a range of factors.

We have service level standards for processing UK visa applications. We
will process 90% of non-settlement applications within 3 weeks, 98% within
6 weeks and 100% within 12 weeks of the application (biometric taken) date;
and 95% of settlement applications within 12 weeks of the biometric taken
date and 100% within 24 weeks of the application (biometric taken) date.
Please note that we define 1 week as 5 working days.

For any further details, or should you need to contact us again please
refer to our website at https://ukvi-international.faq-help.com/, select
appropriate country, click next and then select 'E-Mail form' and complete
as instructed. We will aim to come back to you within 1 day.

Kind regards,

Thanks Prashanth for the quick response. I am not entirely sure why do they take so much of time for evaluation given the less amount of Spouse settlement applications reach their BHC Chennai and more processing times when compared to other BHC's.

In bw, which financial category you applied for CAT A or CAT C?

Feel free to share the information when you get anything from them.

Cheers!!

Hi AMir

I wouldn't worry about escalating the application at this point. You've only submitted your application last month. The UKBA/Home Office clearly states that it takes up to 60 days to process a settlement application (see https://visa-processingtimes.homeoffice.gov.uk/)
Applications submitted in Mumbai and Delhi tend to get processed faster than Chennai. I am guessing this is due to capacity issues, I’ve read somewhere Chennai also deals with applications from Sri Lanka.

So the answer to your question is, you cant’s really do anything to get a ‘result quickly’ but wait for the 15th Aug deadline.

This is our timeline

25th May 2015 : Applied for spouse visa in person VFS Bangalore
25th May 2015: Application forward to Chennai
20th July 2015: Email received stating that the application was processed (no result in the email)
21th July 2015: Received text from VFS Bangalore notifying that application was received and ready for collection
21th July 2015: Collected the passport with visa approved sticker valid till 2018

I have one question though, my spouse did not receive any other letter of instruction or any bio metric card etc. Should we do anything further before the travel to UK?

PS: This forum has been very helpful and appreciate all the help

Hi Jon

I also called premium rate service yesterday but didn't get anything from there. This shows this service is good for nothing and we shouldn't spend our money on this.

Good luck for Ur Visa

Hi

I am also worried why they are taking so long for us where other people are getting quick visas from same timelines. Have u ask for status from them via email or call?
Thanks

Hi Neha and Miss UK98,

We applied in April and only got my husband's visa last week; a total of 57 days so worth emailing them and checking but try and be patient for a response; it was quite a long wait for us - almost 60 days. The way I looked at it was that no response means they haven't declined it based on what you have submitted; even if they are taking long and completing enquiries that's a good thing.

Anyone who applied during the last week of May 2015 and got their spouse visa approved; did you get a biometric card or just the visa sticker?

Hi Antrad,

You will get a sticker in the passport for a validity of 30 Days and once you or your partner arrives in UK then u need to collect the biometric card from the nearest post office you mentioned (Which will also b in the visa approval letter) within 10 days of your arrival

Hi Antrad,

Now that's interesting. As per the rule change in April 2015 everyone will have a biometric card issued to them which should be collected in a post office in UK and hence they provide you with a 30 day visa. Can you provide a bit more details about your application like applied date, where, received date etc.

Approval letter should be included i guess which would say that ur application has been successful and with other instructions on it.
