Emergency: What is a 'legal representative'?

Post by brokentelephone » Tue Aug 05, 2014 11:40 pm

Dear Immigration Experts,

I have all of my documents collected for my Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa, and was going to see a notary public in Canada for a letter of confirmation from a 'legal representative' confirming that the signatures are valid on my 3rd party's funding letter.

What constitutes a legal representative? I doubt a lawyer is necessary to confirm a signature - in Canada we simply go to a notary public.

Please any replies are much appreciated.

A notary public would be fine.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Got my visa using a notary public as 'legal representative.'

No lawyer used whatsoever for Tier 1 Entrepreneur.
