TIER 2 ICT Extension limit under the rule before April 2014

Hi

My query is regarding the limit on extension for those whose entry clearance was granted as Tier 2 ICT Established Staff between April 2010 and April 2011.

My details -

18/12/2010 - 17/01/2012 (entry clearance under Tier 2 ICT Established Staff)
17/01/2012 - 18/01/2014 (Extension under T2 ICT LONG TERM LEAVE TO REMAIN)
18/01/2014 - 19/01/2016 (Extension under T2 ICT LONG TERM LEAVE TO REMAIN)

my queries -

1) How long can I keep extending my VISA under the same category i.e. T2 ICT LONG TERM LEAVE TO REMAIN with the same employer ? (I've heard from some where that its 10 years minus 1 day but I'm not convinced with this because I cant find any such norm in the immigration rules on UK gov website). Please clarify!

2) If I switch to T2 General category in 2015 would I be eligible for ILR in future?

3) If the answer to 2 is YES then would my period spent as T2 ICT be counted for ILR? for eg. If I swith to T2 General in March 2015 would I be able to apply for ILR in Jan 2016 as i complete my years in the UK?

So I understand if i switch to Tier 2 General visa WITH A DIFFERENT EMPLOYER I would be eligible for ILR after 5 years.

Am i eligible for ILR after 5 years if I switch to Tier 2 General visa WITH A SAME EMPLOYER?

you can only switch from T2 ICT to T2G if you change sponsor.

Hi Manci

I was under the impression that the six year cap for a Tier 2 visa would start from the candidate's initial entry into the UK.
This was as per the April 2014 rule change.
Given that ritznkritz entered the country in Dec 2010, wont he be capped to Dec 2016 if he switches to Tier 2 Gen?
