I am going to make an application on the basis of 10 years residency. I am confused with filling out the form. Please help me with following:
1- I can only write down two addresses which covers 2 years- How do I include at least five years previous addresses?
2-I can only add two passports but I have three? Where do I show third passport?
3-I have travelled outside the UK 23 times in the past 10 years? application form says that continue in a seperate sheet. Is it white A4 paper or a duplicate page from application form?
Your help in this matter would be highly appreciated.

Hi guys, quick question. I am approaching the end 10yr period and planning to apply for ILR soon. I did my undergrad in the UK followed by postgrad, postgrad work permit and Tier 2. My first UK Student visa was granted for two years only so I applied for a new one when I was on a short holiday back home (i.e. NOT in the UK). I was granted the second Student Visa while back home with no issues. First visa was valid until October 2007, second visa was starting from September 2007 i.e. there was an overlap.

I may be paranoid but just to be sure: does this count as a continuos stay? Getting a new visa back home was simply easier for me back then and, just again, there was a significant overlap between visas so within this period of time I always had a right to enter UK

Ok, so since no one replied I spent some time digging out the info on gov.uk In short, i found the following example which answers my question. Hope this will help someone at some point

Example 2
 A person enters the UK on 1 September 2004 with entry clearance as a student which is valid until 31 October 2005.
 On 25 October 2005, before the previous leave expired, the person departs the UK.
 On 5 January 2006 the person re-enters the UK with valid entry clearance as a
student.
Question
Has continuous residence been broken?
Answer
No. The person had valid leave on the date of their departure and on the date of their return to the UK, and the time spent outside the UK was less than six months. Continuous residence has been maintained, even though the person entered the UK with a fresh grant of leave.

And, immediately, I have a new question. SET LR application form has an Immigration History section (D). I am interested specifically in question D3:

D3. Since then have you had any absences from the UK? If yes, give the dates you left and returned to the UK and the reason for the absence in the spaces below. List all absences however short and in date order. If you need more space, continue on a separate sheet and enclose it with your application.

Apart from the fact that having all the records for 10 years is hilarious I have one issue with this question. I did plenty of travelling and i have all the passports and stamps which is great. However, some of the return stamps (three to be precise) are very hard to read, probably since UKBA was cost cutting on ink I can work out the month and year but not the date. What should i do in this case? I am planning to use an online application form and something tells me that putting 'not sure' is not an option there.

Hi All, I would like to thank you all for sharing your experience on this site. I would also like to use the opportunity share my Journey to ILR with you guys.

My First Arrival in the UK was in July 6 2006 on student visa valid till June 2008
Renewed Student visa in June 2008 valid till October 2011
Renewed Student Visa in September 2011 valid till January 2013
Switched to work permit Tier 2 General in September 2012 valid till September 2015
Renewed work permit Tier 2 General in July 2015 till September 2018

I became eligible to apply for ILR based on 10 Long residency 28 days before my first arrival(July 6 2006) into the UK= I was eligible to apply anytime from June 8 2016. So I applied for a premium service appointment for June 11 2016 at Sheffield PEO.

My ILR Application Process

Application: SET (LR) Based on 10 year Long Residency
Application Method: Premium Service: Sheffield PEO
Application Date: June 11 2016 12:30
Arrived at Sheffield PEO: June 11 2016 11:15
Submitted Documents: 11:20
Biometrics Taken: 11:40
Decision Received: 12:40 (Successful!!!!)
Biometric card to be received within 10 working days.

Documents Enclosed:

Complete SET LR Application form
2 x Identical Passport-sized photographs
Current and all Previous passports with photocopies (Police Report, SAR Subject access request documents, previous Home Office letters and 10 year bank statements for my first passport which I entered the UK with is lost)
Current biometrics card
Life in the UK Test Pass Letter
Letters, academic certificates and transcript from previous schools and university.
Evidence of accommodation throughout my stay
Letter from HR confirming my employment
Payslips and P60 covering my entire period of employment
Calculation of Time spent outside UK in 10 years (168 days)

Overall, I had a smooth and fast process at the Sheffield PEO with no questions asked even though my first passport which I arrived into the UK with was lost. My best advice is be prepared and have photocopies of all relevant documents. Wishing you guys the best of luck with your forthcoming application processes.

1.Can someone guide plz wat docs do i need to bring for Set LR case window option?
2.Also do i need to bring business related docs as well???
3.Lastly is HO doing any interviews abr business on 10 year LR window option?

Hello everyone in this forum.My head is splitting and don't know what to do.I will appreciate it very much if you could help.
I have been in this country for ten years now.My first five years I was on a student visa.In the fourth year of my stay I got married to an Irish national.We lived together for four years before we split.
It wasn't a pleasant one .My wife has since move out of our marital home.
This year,after living here in UK for ten years ,I applied for indefinite leave to remain based on the ten years I have legally live in this country using SET(LR) form.
My application was refused because my former wife refused to give me any supporting documents to process my application.
The reason for refusal was that the last five years of my stay in this country was not under any immigration control and as such would not count towards my ten year stay in uk.
I'm devastated.I have been given the right of appeal though.
If any member has had this experience or ever dealt or heard of situation like this,I would appreciate it very if they can give me any information.
I must add that we are only separated no divorce has been filed yet.

Hi All,

I shall be completing my long residence on the 14th of September 2016. My only worry in the application is that I had a conviction in July 2010 in which I got fines and points on my licence. I showed the documents to my solicitor and he advised that since the dates have crossed the time of the rehabilitation act I should be fine with my application. He has advised me to send my application in post so that I get time if the case worker has any questions. I have not been in prison and the points on my DL has now cleared.

I just don't want to be stuck without my passport for months or even a year.

Any suggestions?

I have been a silent reader and reading ILR related information of people facing issues with their applications.

Now is the time to share mine. Hope you guys can help me out too.

I am from Pakistan but I was born in UAE. i never lived in Pakistan and have no social or family ties within. All my family, friends lives in UAE but unfortunately due to residence permit restrictions i had to give up my UAE residence permit in 2012. Which means i cannot go back to the country where i was born and cannot even go back to Pakistan because i never lived there.


Issue:
In 2006 my father passed away and i had to travel back to Dubai and stayed there for 65 days due to all pathetic rules and regulations of UAE government.
In 2011 my mother fell badly ill and I had to travel back and had to stay there for 182 days in total due to my moms surgery and i had to look after her. Therefore, In total of 10 years I stayed all together 547 days which in comparison to HO laws should be 540 days.

My ILR refused due to the 182 days stayed outside the UK in one go which considered to be broken period. Though i provided medical related evidence of my mother's and also provided my dads death certificate but the case worker didn't take these two evidence into consideration.

The case worker also mentioned in the refusal letter that i was born in Pakistan and have strong ties with the country which is not the case.

My case is based on ILR continuous residence (10 Years).

i came to UK in Aug 2004.
Granted visas every year.

Jan 2011 Granted ( PSW) for 2 years).

December 2013 PSW expired and extended visa as Tier 1 General valid until June 2014.

Applied FLR(O) In June and before the decision in August I took the advantage of 28 days, applied ILR based on 10 years continuous residence.

Refused ILR on the 17th November 2014 and given the right of Appeal.

Appeal Allowed Under Immigration rules and Article 8 ECHR ON 21 May 2015
Home Office Challenged "Permission to Appeal in November 2015

FTT refused permission to appeal on 26 May 2016.
Letter received by HOME 1st June -Granting leave to remain (30 Months) enclosed documents.

After all above, i have my solicitor who wrote HOME OFFICE that we won this appeal under immigration rules and article 8 ECHR and must get indefinite leave to remain. Its been more than 3 weeks now and I am still waiting for HOME OFFICE to get back to me with response.

Any thoughts on the above people. Really confused, your opinion and suggestions are welcome.

Hi,

I'm applying for ILR soon in August 2016.

I have 2 questions:

1. While filling the new form 03/2016 version, on the Page 1, it says that I need to fill the reasons or grounds why I want to stay in UK in section 3.2 but section 3.2 in the form refers to "Life in UK" test. The only section I can find close is D17 on Page 15. Am I missing something?

2. I went to Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland for a tourist tour but on my way back to UK (Manchester) I did not get an entry stamp in my passport. I still have the booking ticket for the flight back and also a booking confirmation for the train from the airport to home. Will this be sufficient?

I came here in 7th July 2006, having a clean immigration history, fullfilled all the requirements for long residency.

1. Currently I applied for Tier 1 Ent Extension, which was expired on 27th May 2016.
2. Biometric given on time.
3. Seems to be no issue with extension application, fullfiled all the requirements.
4. Initail application was graned after interview in 2013.
5. Application as on today is still in process.

My question is for Guru's is
1. Can I vary my application to LR for ILR.
2. Can I do this at permium services as the application is in process.
3. Seeked advice from 2 solicitors, they are recomending me to vary the application as its safe to be at LR.
4. or Shall I wait for the outcome of current pending application.
5. lets say if home office rejects my current application, will I still be able to go for 10 years route or I have to clear my rejected points.

I Have been given ILR on the basis of 10 years in the country. Before that I was on tier 1 general and thanks to the accountants things messed up and i am still in talks with HMRC to get the amendments for the same. My account is already in credit in terms of tax. (i have already paid the taxes without them making any changes so that as soon as they make the payment is already in the account). My intentions are clear- pay the taxes. Now will this be a problem while traveling? Can my visa get revoked on the airport? Open for ideas to avoid such situations

This thread has now become such a jumble of white noise that I can't see how anyone can possibly be getting the advice they need. No idea who is answering which question!
As a suggestion, it would probably be more advantageous to post your question in your own individual thread, where you stand far more chance of a response.
