Recd call from UKBA today - Urgent help needed

Post by Entreprenuersweare » Wed May 04, 2016 8:44 pm

Hi all

Hope you all are well.

I have receiveed a call from UKBA today. Unfortunately, I could not respond to the call as I was in a meeting and had to request them to contact me in an hours time due to this.

When they called again in two hours time I was still in the meeting and could not respond. They have left a voicemail stating that they will like to speak with the HR department of my company.

I wanted to know what kind of questions should I be expecting from them.

Please share your experiences if any and any pointers you think will be helpful. All inputs will be very well received.

My timeline is as follows:

Visa received in a team in April 2014
Extension due in April 2017

Thank you for all your help in advance.

It could be anything mostly your employees. HO is cracking down hard on illegal employment.
You better wait and see what they want to know

Hi Zimba88

Thanks a lot for your response.

We have already employed two employees in our business. Both are EU nationals.

My understanding was EU nationals are eligible to work in our businesses as they are also considered settled workers.

Please can you confirm if this correct.

Thanks

Yes. All EEA citizens are allowed to live and work in the UK freely. They are also considered settled for the Tier 1E visa purposes.

Be aware of scams. UKVI give a phone call! Where have they got the number from!!! My friend received a text from UKVI and its turned up as a scam.

Hi friend87

Thank you for your response.

I will keep that in mind and will enquire with them about this when I speak with them.

Thanks

Sounds like the caller wishes to speak to your HR rather than you.

UKVI can and do make such calls.
Be aware if they can't get through after a couple of attempts they may record the outcome as 'call failed' and this can cast doubt on your current employment.

Suggest you (HR) make yourselves available as much as possible. Suggest you brief your HR of significance of this type of call to you.

(And obviously take all steps to verify the credentials of the caller).

Hi all

I have more news about the call.

It was a verification call about an employee of my company who was trying to apply a dependent visa for his wife.

They verified the details of the employee including his designation and how long had he been employed in the company.

Hi sm12

They left a voicemail on my business partner's phone. I will put the details as soon as I am able to get the telephone number.

Thanks
