Maternity leave

Post by gremgrem » Mon May 09, 2016 4:05 pm

Hello,

I wanted to ask advice about my situation.
Ive been working since November last year in UK and in January we submitted EEA2 applications based on my employment for my unmarried partners residence card. We added my original payslips at the time- all the ones i had which was around 7-8, letter from my employer, my bank account statements.
Since then we have done biometrics and recieved Certificate of application with no right to work (stating we didnt provide original documentation whatever they mean with that- we have a child together whose birth certificate they have and been together for 4 years which we have provided lot of evidence on in previous applications and this one also).
However in end of May im starting maternity leave. I mentioned only briefly in application that im pregnant not stating any terms or due dates since i was foolishly hoping for application to come out before i would start my leave.
Obviously enough it still hasnt come out so im wondering do i need to notify Home Office im going on maternity leave? Is it gonna affect our application in bad or good way? If i do have to, how do i do it? Through letter, through email?
Since i am going on leave and my partner has no right to work im also worried about finansial aspect of things as i am right now the only provider of the family but there is absolutely no way for me to continue working as my employer wont even let me (job is physically demanding so he is worried about any potential damage to me or baby).

Thank you so much to anyone that can provide me with any sort of guidance.
I just hope to resolve everything and get the RC before this baby comes. :-D

You should be able to retain your worker status whilst on maternity leave (up to 12 months).
So your baby won't have actually changed your category of qualified person.

However the Declaration you signed did include the following commitment, so it may be worth dropping a line to HO to let them know.
I confirm that if, before this application is decided, there is a material change in my circumstances or new information relevant to this application becomes available, I will inform the Home Office
