The questions I remember:
- Name and Date of birth
- if I'm employed at the moment?
- Company name and its nature
- Why I registered with company house? Answer: I wanted to create a company and it requires to register your company with company house.
- My previous work experiences
- How much I invested and where exactly (details of investments)? Answer: employees' salary, legal expenses, accountancy expenses, office rent, advertisement, computer equipment, travel costs...the answer was type of investment with figures.
- My employees name with spelling
- the employees' roles in my company
- how did I recruit them?
- how much I've paid as the salary in total
- how much national insurance I paid
- how much tax I paid
- how much corporation tax I paid
- each year's loss or profit details
- my accountant name, his company name and address
- how much I pay for the advertisement?
- How and where do I advertise?
- How many contracts? I explained our work is mixture of contracts and we also charge hourly rate for our consultancy sessions
- Do you train your employees
- if the employees still working for me?
- who are my business competitors?
- what would I do if the business fails

It was a friendly interview, and seems there are set questions, and I could add more to my answers or change them. You need to know your business and the accountancy terms like corporation tax and annual returns. My answers were being typed by the interviewer.

Almost everyone in the forum are getting the interview irrespective 50k or 200K. There was one case cleared without interview

I believe there are cases that are not called for an interview. We don't see them on the forum because with an exception of a few the ones that are called for an interview or problems write and discuss on the forum others are silent observers and disappear after their visa is granted. Hence we don't see or hear about them.
This is my thought on the subject I might be wrong.

Tip: you can take a documents with you or piece of paper( just to write down some information). She asked how much NI i have paid for my employees, i have 6 employees and i remember all but its a chance people forget so its depend how good you know all the numbers .

I had my interview on monday and as everyone its all about your business related questions they asked me lasted for around 30 mins. all in all about business.
My advise to other people whose going for interview, be confident and go through with your last years accounts will be very helpful.

He asked me if i have any question and same as everyone how long it takes now?
He replied case workers are very busy but after this interview your case process is now start so you will hear soon.

Hi Everyone .

I had been to interview on Friday and this forum and the people have helped me a lot .
Though questions asked to me where no different than what people have already mentioned here, still I will post all the questions so it can be helpful to other users who are about to attend the interview .


First of all , it was a Skype interview and the person was very friendly , duration was proper one hour , the questions are as follows .

1) The basics to start with ( your name , your company name and the services you provide )

2) Each clients details in full and how did they came on board

3) do you have a website ? whats the address ?

4) when do you file your returns ?

5) your overall gross and net profit

6) last management accounts gross and net profit specifically ?

7) how much tax you pay ?

contingency plan

9) how do you manage your time

10) what did you do after psw ?

11) employees full details with job roles and pay package

12) how does your studies support you in the business you are doing now ?

13) how do you advertise ?

14) how many live adverts you have at the moment ? etc



If you are a genuine business person and you know your business well its nothing to worry about, as said by others is true .

Just a quick question, we have couple of businesses along with more than 6 employees under the company and there are clear two different line our company do.

Regarding questions, turnover, start dates of each employee etc is quite big data and numbers to remember everything by heart as its been asked in interviews.

Just wanted to know if we can one page with small notes and exact numbers to cover all the questions properly? Or we are NOT allowed to take any paper or notes at all during interviews and refer to them?

If owner cannot perform and represent and speak for her own business(es) in a credible manner then who can?

Surely that's why the boss is paid big bucks. And it doesn't have to be a memory test.
