A bit of history
I have a Tier 2 general (Company sponsored) visa and I've been on this visa category for about 1.5 years now. I've been in UK for the past 8 years or so from student visa to PSW. Last December I sponsored my wife's parents for a visit. They came and left according to the visa they was granted (no overstay and such).
I'm planing to sponsor/invite my parents for a holiday soon and have send all the relevant documents that they would need for a successful visit visa grant. i.e. my bank statements (showing more than £10,000), sponsor letter, proof of accommodation and etc. They have visited UK for about 2 weeks for my graduation in 2009 as well. My parents are traveling from Sri Lanka.
My father is retired and my mother is a house wife. My father's income comes from renting out flats/apartments for businesses and such.
But when they applied for a visit visa, it got rejected. This is the first visa rejection they have ever gotten. They have traveled to UK, Abu dhabi and Dubai and India before.
Plan of action
We plan to re-apply with new evidence (or clearly stating the previous set of evidence) in the near future.
1) My parents have other bank accounts to show funds additional to the main account that my father showed for this application. This main account shows funds for UK visit and is not the only account thats under their names or the only funds they have within their possession. I've asked them to produce all other bank accounts for the re-application process.
2) Not sure why the visa officer say that the submitted documents does not prove my fathers income as we have submitted all the lease/rental agreements (4 in total). We plan to make this very clear to the visa officer by attaching a letter clearly stating how much my father earns thought each of the lease/rental each month.
3) The bank account shown for this application did not have a 6 months history attached to it. It only stated that this account has this much etc. I have instructed my father to get a bank statements that has at-least 6 months history attached to it so that visa officer clearly sees funds income and expenditure from that account.
Questions
1) Can my parents re-apply immediately?
2) Does this refusal play an adverse role in the next application?
3) How likely is it that my parents gets a successful visa grant on the next application given that we address the concerns of the visa officer.
4) Will adding new evidence, such as other bank accounts which was not shown on the first application have an adverse result on the application?
5) What else can we do to satisfy visa officers misconceptions of the intention of my parents visit to UK?
