10 years completed, tier1 extension in Process

Post by Legal83 » Fri May 20, 2016 10:24 pm

Hi All

I have applied for Tier1 Extension, while the case is in process, my 10 years are completed. Can I go to premium service for ILR or ILR application has to be postal? I have fullfilled all the requirements for extension application too, there was only 5 days gap between 10 years qualifying period and tier1 ent expiry. But to avoid any confusion and headache I applied for extension.

its your decision but yes there is option to go for but less likely that you will get the decision on the same day. I know someone personally he was on the same situation applied for extension and complete 10Y. He went for 10Y same day but they said your application is valid but all your papers not with us at this moment, so we ask internally to send the document here and we will let you know. he is waiting near two weeks now after PEO appointment.

@ Aba499. did he attend the appointment? some one said to me you can go for that but decision will take time, I have my first passport with me with visa on it in 2006. I have passed life in UK, and with me. I am confused now. I would prefer to wait for the outcome of extension. lets say they refused my visa then will I be able to go for 10 years within 14 days of refusal?

Yes that guy attend the interview (same as like general same day service appointment but without papers). I think surely you can apply for 10Y even if there is any negative decision but may be you can wait for seniors advise :D

this days its becoming tough for PBS, so as soon as anyone completing 10Y most applying on this route as probably its much more secure compare to other routes.

Many others have done the same. Therefore i would advise to apply for same day . decision might not be made on the same day but with in 2-3 weeks you will get ILR via SET LR application. will also get refund of Tier 1 Application fee along with IHS ;)
you can also vary application to SET LR via post costs 1900£ approx, decision time is also pretty quick these days 4-6 weeks.
make yourself some saving for Naturalization my frined.
all the best
