Can DCPR application be sent early?

Post by LilyLalilu » Tue May 24, 2016 1:18 pm

Hi,

I'm asking for an EEA national friend who is due for PR in a few weeks time.
Can a DCPR application actually be sent early or would this be refused even if PR status has been automatically obtained by the time they process the application? For example send it two weeks early and assume that with the current processing times it would only be processed once PR status has been obtained. I can find a lot about this in regards to citizenship but not in regards to PR. The reason why she wants to send it early is that she is married to a BC and therefore could apply for citizenship as soon as the DCPR is received. So the idea is basically to shorten the time between obtaining PR automatically and receiving the DCPR.

I know another member recently stated that the AN application can be sent without the DCPR as long as a cover letter is sent stating that the DCPR has been applied for. We find this a bit too risky however, she'd rather risk £65 than £1300 +

Any ideas/experiences would be appreciated :)
