Tier 2 G extension/IHS Charge/Dependants

Post by yogeeta75 » Tue May 24, 2016 4:14 pm

Hello all,
I am due to extend my Tier 2 by end of June 2016 .Have done 3 yrs already (01/07/2013-01/07/2016).
My question is
1) Do i need to extend for 2 years or 3 years? as to my understanding i will be eligible for ILR after 5 yrs being on Tier 2.What the best way?
2) Do i pay 2 years ihs charge or 3years?
3)i want to do post application - however i have seen in the forum i need to apply for my 2 dependents online.
How do i do this send mine bu post and do theirs online at the same time? or wait?

Many thanks all.

Hi

Please follow up from above post.
One more thing im thinking - if my employer sponsors me for say 2 years - and i apply for ILR - he will provide me letter stating that he still wants me to work for the company - will that be ok?

Thanks

its employer's choice for how long he wants to sponsor u. if and when u complete 5 years, and satisfy all conditions of ilr, like 35k min salary requirement, then u may apply for ilr.

Thanks for your reply.

the employer can issue any - 2years or 3 yrs
my point is linked with ihs charge - say i extend for 3yrs but apply for ILR after 5years do I get refunded the 1year ihs charge? or its lost? i have 3 dependants and this is a huge sum!

if it doesnt say get refunded can i say i am safer to extend for 2 yrs only? or i am taking a risk here?
I will be ok salary wise.

No, you likely won't get a refund for the extra year.

How long will the CoS be issued for?

3years - but i can ask to issue for 2 years

in case of asking employer to issue for 2 years - am i taking a risk for IRL in terms of having enough time to complete aplication in time?
or is it better to ask for 3years cos to avoid all the tension and above issue?

Many thanks.

Yes it is a risk, but only you can make that decision (with your sponsor).

You can all apply for ILR together. UK born child does not need ILR if you plan on registering him as British.
