Switching Tier2 Sponsors

Post by square189 » Thu May 26, 2016 3:04 pm

Dear all,

I am currently on a Tier2 visa, and I received a new offer along with a CoS from a new employer (sponsor). Now what should be the next step for me to switch employers? Should I apply for a new Tier2 application?

Thank you in advance and your help and guidance is appreciated.

Best regards,

Yes, you need to apply for a new Tier 2 General with the new CoS etc.

Has the full and proper RLMT process been done?

Hello,

The new employer didn't tell me anything about the RLMT. I think the job ad has been there for a while now. They have recently applied for the CoS, and they got it. They have sent me the CoS number via email. Do I still need to ask them about RLMT?

Or shall I proceed and start a new Tier2 application using the CoS number they gave me?

Thanks.

Thank you. My current Tier2 visa and employment will not get impacted at all if the new Tier2 application wasn't successful, right? I will only have to cancel my current Tier2 biometric card, when I get the new biometric card.

No, your current employment and visa will not be affected. A new BRP card is part of the process for a new visa.

If you are granted a new Tier 2 General, your current BRP will be retained by HO and your visa automatically cancelled. There is nothing extra that you will need to do.

Don't forget that you also have to pay the immigration health surcharge before you apply or submit your application.

@CR001

I could be wrong, but just wanted to confirm :

When a person switches tier 2 sponsor / employer, is there any new rule that states that, employer / sponsor of Tier 2 should pay X amount for the duration of the visa as a skills levy charge or so ?

Apologies if my understanding is totally irrelevant.
