T1(E) £200k Extestion Interview Questions

Hi members,

I have lodged my T1(E) extension application on 26/4/2016. I am expecting the home office to invite me for an interview inline with their new guidance.

Has anyone got any clue of the possible questions to share?

You need to wait for HO response. Every application is different and will be decided on its own merits. there is no evidence for your assumption that you will be certainly interviewed because you simply applied after some date. People who are being interviewed tend to talk about it on here and usually have red flags in their application.

zimb88 - What do you mean by red flags?

I have three friends who applied on 31/3/16, 6/4/16, 15/4/16 and they were all sent letters on 18/5/16, 26/5/16 and 25/5/16 inviting them for interviews. The interviews dates are yet to be fixed. This is why I made the assumption that the Home Office is changing the policies of considering extension applications.

Hoping the above information would help other members here.

You could be interviewed for all sort of reasons and I do NOT know all of them. I have already seen several individuals on this forum have very little knowledge of Tier 1E rules and what they need to do to comply with the rules. Many clearly failed to comply with the rules and are in damage control mode just before their extension.
In my opinion, some of the things on the list below could raise concerns. Please understand that some of the practices on this list are perfectly fine under Tier 1E rules but could potentially be viewed from HO standpoint as red flags:

- If you ever provided an English language certificate which is not accepted any more like TOEIC
- Paying yourself salary from your investment or hiring your business partner/dependants
- Engaging in low value businesses, having bad business practices or low business activity
- Working from home
- Having multiple business
- Hiring on absolute min wage
- Not having a registered qualified accountant (agent) on HMRC records
- Failure to register or declare and pay taxes (CT, VAT, SA, business rate, etc)
- Bad immigration or personal history
- Working in capacity of an employee via your company or through an agency (for example contracting)
- Investing merely in property, cars, stock or purchasing a business from a previous owner
- Sending a lot of irrelevant documents, low quality or contradictory evidence
- Failure to get proper insurance, licences, or certificates if your line of business requires it
- Having no previous background or experience in the line of work you are undertaking

Just have a look at this which in my opinion is important

When considering your earnings, we will assess the following;
• The evidence you have submitted;
• Whether the money appears to have been earned through genuine employment, rather
than being borrowed, gifted, or otherwise shown in your financial transactions or
records without being earned;
• Whether the business from which the earnings are claimed can be shown to exist (or
have existed) when you claim to have earned the money and has been lawfully and
genuinely trading;
• Previous earnings claims you made to the Home Office compared to declarations you
made to other Government Departments;
• Your previous educational and business experience in relation to your claimed
business activity;
• Your immigration history and previous activity in the UK;
• Where the nature of your employment or business requires you to have mandatory
accreditation, registration and/or insurance, whether that accreditation, registration
and/or insurance has been obtained;
• Any payments made by you to other parties and
• Any other relevant information.

i have been to interview last month , they asked me every thing about the business starting from my investment , how much and where ii have invested by asking the actual figures .then asking about my expenses , sale and profit if any .daily basis work , my role and my employees job description .their salaries , full time half time .wage rate .their NI nos .then they ask me about the location , rent and the shops near by.
my future plans if my business will not work.they asked me about my immigration history .how i came here and why i decided to to invest here in uk .they ask me about the money deposits in bank as well.
I beleive it depend case to case what they believe they want to rectify .good luck anyways .

Could you list some of the question they ask you if you remember, i think now HO calling every Application to attend for interview. regarding last post Do you really need to know employee NI no; really dont know on what basis they are calling .

Please advise while in interview ,
They allow to answers the questions by look the documents or just reply verbally. Because answers employee NI no or company profit, sales and expenses details, lease contract details. Quite Deficult , and while in interview applicant can take company documents with him. How they are polite while interview.
