Hi Guys,
I have couple queries one regarding my wife visa and second about my friend any suggestion would be appreciated.
First one for my wife ILR. I got ILR last month through Tier1 General 5 years route and once my wife will pass English test I will apply for her ILR. Is there any requirement for her ILR to show any earnings if yes should this be 18600 or same I have already shown for my self to get ILR.
Second query about my friend currently he is on Tier 1` General visa that will expire on 07/07/2016 though he prepared all necessary documents and meet all requirements and did not require any tax return amendments. But some one now advised him you can apply for long residence as well that much safer than via tier 1 general. His first entry clearance was given on 05/09/2006 and he entered UK on 22/09/2006 and since then no break as got study visa followed by PSW and currently Tier 1 General. Some one advise a wee gap could be covered while we can send application near ending visa then going for biometric on the last date of request. Now he is undecided as some who advised told him Long residency visa is more secure than tier 1 general but again its your decision you may go via tier 1 general or 10 years. Any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

The salary requirement you quote is not relevant to dependents applying for ILR on SET(O). It is relevan to FLR(M) and ILR on Set(M). She also needs LIUK.

ILR through long residency is not necessarily safer. HO will still check employment/tax and that he met all the requirements of his Tier 1 G visas. He cannot apply for ILR based on long residence as his current visa expires before he reaches the qualifying time. If his employment/tax affairs are all in order and income declared to HO and HMRC match etc, then he should not have issues applying for ILR based on 5 years residence. Might be easier if your friend registers on the forum and posts his own questions about his personal/visa circumstances.

Hi CR001,
Thanks very much for prompt response. My wife already passed LIUK test and forgot to mention in post, however that's why I use / like this forum if you miss any thing will be flagged which is very great help.
And told my friend and send the link as well, however he now definitely made his mind to apply ILR via Tier 1 General as everything with HO corroborate with HMRC.
thanks again.

You are welcome, happy to answer/help with anything else. Sounds like she is good to go once she does English B1.

thanks again.
