BRP Enquiry

Post by Pillar » Tue Jun 07, 2016 8:48 pm

Hi all,

I was granted ILR yesterday at Croydon PEO. They gave me a letter mentioning that the BRP card will be send with in 10 working days. Plus they also returned all my originals supporting documents and asked me to sign a form before I left.

However, when I got home and checked over everything, I clocked on that my previous BRP card which expires at the end of this month is missing.

So, I just want to clarify whether they have intentionally taken my BRP card as my leave has been granted. Or is a case of mistake from my part not checking the documents properly when they gave it back? I have to admit I was excited at that point and did not really check over everything when I was there.

Really anxious about this now till I get my new BRP card!

Anyone who experienced this ? What's everyone's situations like when the application was successful ? Did they retain your previous card even though there was valid leave on the card?

Many thanks in advance.

It is normal. They don't return your old BRP as it is no longer valid and has been cancelled and superseded by ILR. It still being valid is irrelevant now as it isn't really.
