Maintenance requirements when dependant applying

Post by arts99 » Wed Jun 08, 2016 12:45 pm

Hello,

Can anyone please clarify what are the maintenance requirement under the current rules when a Tier 4 dependant application is made for a spouse overseas for a student who is already in UK so only dependant application is submitted.

If your dependant applies on or after 12 November 2015, then the amount of money that each dependant must show is as follows: If you will study in London, £845 for each month of your course, up to a maximum of 9 months (that is, a maximum figure of £7,605).
For the actual student maintenance of £1,265 a month for each month of your course up to a maximum of nine months (if your course is one year or more in duration this will be £11,385).
The question is would the dependant be ok if just £7605 is shown or would the additional £11,385 will be needed to shown to prove that the money is available for the student maintenance as well.

Thank you
