BRP for ILR

Post by wsc » Sat Jun 11, 2016 1:06 pm

Hi All,
First time and first post here. We are in the process to apply for ILR and since I have booked premium service in Cardiff and paid the fee (phew... a lot money for three of us), so am I right to assume that when filling in the SET(O) form, I don't need to fill in the Payment section?
Another stupid question is that since we have BRP which will be due October this year, after the interview:
(1) What happen to my BRP card? Will they issue a new BRP card?
(2) Will they charge for BRP card?

I saw some information on the internet that if we change the status then they can put a stamp on the card and it costs about £800 per person, which means will drain out another £2.4K from my pocket.
I appreciate if anyone can shed some lights.

Thank you!

No, leae this blank.

(1) What happen to my BRP card? Will they issue a new BRP card? HO keep your existing BRP (if you have one) and you get a new one within 2 weeks of your ILR appointment and approval

(2) Will they charge for BRP card? No

I appreciate if anyone can shed some lights.

Thank you!

Thank you CR001,
The link is below

I suppose I am on Tier 2 General visa to work here, and then have transferred to ILR, then I am transferring condition? Or I got it wrong?

Another stupid question, most of my friend, if not all, told me now to apply for settlement, I will need to pay NHS fee. But I am on Tier 2 General visa here, so I am not affected? Am I right on it?

Thank you

I suppose I am on Tier 2 General visa to work here, and then have transferred to ILR, then I am transferring condition? Or I got it wrong? You are wrong. You are not 'transferring a condition' to ILR. You are APPLYING for ILR which is an application on its own. Transferring applies to those who have a vignette in their passport and transfer the 'visa vignette' to a new passport etc. Ignore this link, not relevant to you.

Another stupid question, most of my friend, if not all, told me now to apply for settlement, I will need to pay NHS fee. But I am on Tier 2 General visa here, so I am not affected? Am I right on it? IHS fee is NOT payable for ILR. Suggest not listening to poor/incorrect advice from your 'friends at the pub/work' etc.

Thank you

Or you could advise them to join the Board where they may learn a thing or two
