Biometrics Enrolled on : 01/07/16

Application posted on 11/06/16
Received by HO 15/06/16
Payment was taken on 17/06/16
Bio letter received on 14/07/16
Biometrics Enrolled on 19/07/16
COA received: 24/07/16

Requested Passport Back: 05/12/16 as I need to fly out on Xmas eve.
HO responded by letter on 10/12/16: Refused to return my passport because I have no basis of stay in UK (previous work visa expired on 8th Dec), I can either wait for the decision or apply for voluntary departure.

Called HO on 12/12/16: call center rejected to put a referral to caseworker, informed me the 6 months counting from the date they received the application.
Called HO again on 16/12/16, call center put the referral through this time, HO called back on the same day and saying the application is still in progressing. No expected date, just wait.
Called HO again on 19/12/16, HO called back on the same day and informed me there was a package posted to me on 17th Dec. Also provided me the Royal Mail tracking number.

Documents Returned with decision letter on 20/12/16 by royal mail signed for delivery, dated 16/12/16
Resident Card Received on 20/12/16 by DX delivery, dated 16/12/16

Finally it's over, took them 6 months and 5 days from the date they received it. It's not a massive delay but for me the last two weeks every single day I feel like sitting on the heated pan, I even contacted the voluntary departure service in order to get my passport back. Long story but turn into a happy ending just in time. Good luck for everyone else!!

Update: according to email response, a CoA was sent to us on 9th August 2016 but since we never received one, they decided to send a "duplicate CoA".

We have now received CoA which is indeed dated 9th August 2016
