Ilr 10 years long residence

Post by Salmanjeee123 » Mon Jun 20, 2016 6:37 pm

Hi there , i am going to apply 10 years long residence. I just submitt my all past 5 years tax returns now and waiting for hmrc reply . I am willing to pay tax what so ever it will be , just wanted to make sure that is ukba check all previous tax returns? I am on tier 1 for last 5 years. Do they check your tax even on 10 years ? Or not really , and if i pay all tax will it be any positive thing ? I have already submmitted my all tax returns. Any suggestion please ? Thanks

I've moved your post to the appropriate sub-forum.
If you search the forum you will see the high number of refusals for Tier 1-G ILR applicants who have been refused due to tax amendment/discrepancies.
Are you saying that you don't know whether you have any overdue tax payments? The UKVI Case Worker will carry out the same cross-checks with HMRC on 10 year long residence applications. Refusals are common under deception, due to tax amendments only being addressed close to applying for ILR.
If you mean that you failed to submit self-assessment tax returns for the past 5 years, then you're in really deep water with both the UKVI and HMRC!

You can apply for 10 years LR ILR at any point after you reach 10 years but no sooner than within 28 days before reaching 10 years. You can apply next year if you want to.
