residence card application : employment verification

Post by barbapapa » Mon Jun 27, 2016 5:14 pm

Hi,

My wife is applying for a residence card (qualified person route).
She sent her residence card application in March. She got her biometric done and her acknowledgement letter in April.

I would like to stop my job in August/September and would like to know if it can affect the application (do they check the status of employment while the application is processing or do they only look at the document provided)?

Thanks

Yes, if you are the sponsor and qualified person, the caseworker may well give the 'current' employer a bell.

There have been refusals reported in forum when a company was called up and denied all knowledge of an employee (who had moved on).
So such a critical and material change would have to be notified to HO (as you and your wife will have agreed to do by signing the Declaration on the form).
