Tax deception - How to check?

Post by snoopy01 » Wed Jun 29, 2016 2:53 am

Hi, Here is my immigration history:

2007-2010 - Student visa
2010-2012 - PSW
2012-2016 - Tier 1 Entrepreneur
Dec 2016 - 10 Years completes and going to apply for ILR 10 Years Long Residency.

I have seen many posts regarding people refused based on tax issues, Please take my above immigration history into consideration and let me know how can I check if I have tax deception? To make it clear, during my PSW I only worked for 6 months and that was on PAYE and after that I was on Tier 1 Entrepreneur and paid tax regularly.

Do I need to get HMRC certificate to see if I have tax deception or how it will work?

Many THanks!!!

Dear Snoopy01,
Hope you are doing fine,
You shall ring HMRC and provide your NI or UTR number as reference and request for the last 5 years SA302 by post, HMRC will send promptly. Usually it will take 7-10 working days to reach you,
Then you will have an opportunity to go through the taxes you have paid for that particular year and can be verified against the tax information you have already provided to HO during your previous applications,
If, you realize that, Some or all the taxes are not disclosed to HMRC, You should take immediate action to declare the correct taxes to HMRC before going to HO for your visa,
You can either pay the outstanding taxes in full or have a payment plan setup with HMRC based on your financial conditions,
If you have made any amendment/late submission, You may require to provide these information in your cover letter to HO with any proof of payment/payment plan from HMRC,
If you require any further details, Please do not hesitate to contact
Kind Regards,
Anan
(Note: Please seek advice from your accountant to validate the points given above)
If Not We, Then Who?
