travel restrictions with a flr (m) visa

Post by daviddb87 » Mon Jul 04, 2016 5:52 pm

Hi guys
Sorry first post. My wife is on the second half of her 5 year flr (m) and we would like to go travelling for as long as possible without affecting our ilr chances or loose her flr visa.
I have read that we can't leave the country for 450 days in the 5 years which isn't a problem and not to have not left the country for more than 3 months in the final year which is also not a problem
I however can't find the information but do remember that she can't leave the country for longer than 3 months at a time/a year is this true. If so which one and can we reset it by coming back to the country or does it reset per calender year.
Also if you know of any other restrictions would you be able to let me know

Many thanks in advance

David

This is only relevant to British Citizenship applications and not for ILR.

There is no such restriction.

Absences should be limited and for good reason, ie family holidays etc. When she applies for ILR, she only has to declare absences of 6 months or more.

She should however, be residing in the UK, not using a spouse visa to visa for short periods but living in another country.
