EEA- Calculatiing continuous period

Post by ruby_ing » Mon Jul 04, 2016 9:51 pm

Hi All,

I am holding EEA residence card, but I am thinking to go Spain to study spanish for half year and I have below doubts regarding the "abosense of 6 months" as I am planning to apply permanent residence when 5 years finish.

1) Can I know when my year cycle start? My timeline as below:

25 MAR 2014 -- Family permit as EEA family issued
29 MAR 2014 --- Enter UK
01 APR 2014 --- Sent application to apply residence card
12 APR 2014 -- received the CoA
02 SEP 2014 --- residence card received

2) I checked and seems if it is for study, it can be more than 6 months, but anyone know what kind of study it refers to?

I will just take language course in casual school, not getting a degree or master, does it count? Or I must get qualification?

Will there be chance that i take the course for 6 months, and they dont count it as study when I apply the permanent residence??

Thanks for the patience in advance

Ruby

Can anyone help?

I cannot enroll any courses or plan anything if I am not sure about it.

Thanks

1) As per my understanding, count from the anniversary of entry into UK.

2) You need to show the absence is for the benefit of your integration into life in UK.

You will need rock-solid of evidence of your study or vocational training activity.
If the evidence doesn't stand up you risk the time not being allowed for.
