Spouse Visa - Leaving the UK

Hello All,
I am currently on spouse visa and plan to leave the country for 8 months to spend my maternity leave with my family in law.
my husband obviously will be visiting from time to time.
I have done so many research, but I am unable to see the maximum time that has to be spent out of the UK while on spouse visa.
could someone please help me if they have any clue. Is it possible to leave the country for such a long period?
