ILR after 6 Year Discretionary Leave Help Please

Post by MaiT » Mon Jul 18, 2016 3:12 am

Hi guys
Sorry I'm new to this forum but I have got a few questions and please someone needs to help me get a rest of mind . Basically i have been in this country (UK) since 2001 I came as an asylum seeker and was told I was young to claim asylum . Anyway I was then a dependant until I turned 18 which meant I had to apply on my own since I was an adult so I did apply but was refused on the basis that I should go back to my country and get student visa. I studied year 10-11 (GCSEs)here , sixth form and college . Moving on after a long battle with the HO I was granted DL for 1 year under family life in 2010 then another 3years in 2011 then another 3 years in 2014 . I have now applied for ilr last month (June 2016) because my 6 years is up & now my question is has anyone ever been given their DL in that wierd order & do u think they will grant me ilr ?? I have an 8 month old baby I work and I'm a student I am currently on martenity but in 2 days time it will be a month & my solicitor says he hasn't heard from HO . How long does it take ? I'm nervous as I go back to uni in sept n I'm sure they will ask me for my visa which I dont have & might they refuse me coz they are taking so long or is there backlog & I'm just being paranoid . What is the waiting time for this kind of thing ??Please help me somebody help !!!

Thank you
X

Did you apply using the SET(O) form?

At the current rate, the SET(O) applications are being dealt within 4-6 months, depending on the complexity of the cases.en You just need to be patient.

Why didn't you use the premium service? You would have known the outcome on the same day in most cases. As long as you have continuous leave with no break on the discretionary leave, you will be okay.
