EU and non-EU couple live and work in UK

Post by EimaAriel2016 » Wed Jul 20, 2016 7:21 pm

Hello everyone. I’m EU citizen (from Lithuania) been living in UK for more than 3 years and currently in a relationship with Taiwanese girl, she’s studying here but her student visa expires in January. We both trying to find a way for her to stay and work in UK permanently or at least to extend her stay. She applied UK working visa in May but didn’t get it. Next date to apply for it only in December. Yes, there is a hope she might get working visa before her student visa expires, but it’s based on luck and we want to have a backup plan. If anyone of you been in this kind of situation and can give us advice it would be much appreciated.

If gf cannot obtain a UK visa in her own right (work or study) then there's always marriage.
As long as UK is in EU (perhaps 2+ years more to go) then you can sponsor your new spouse under EU free movement regulations as long as you are a qualified person.
