eea2 on A4 Paper and transferring to PP

Post by confusedinpakistan » Fri Jul 22, 2016 12:49 am

Hi Guys,

I got my eea2 about 2 years ago on a piece of a4 paper.

I have been able to travel without any problems, but this year when returning to the UK I was given a lot of hassle about the paper being slightly ripped.

Does anyone know what the process is to get a new one, or better yet to get it transferred to a passport?

I understand that I would have to fill out a form again, but are there now biometrics involved in the process?

What is the current timeline?

Also and more important, would my 5 year timeline start from the date I originally entered the UK or would it be from when the new RC was issued?

None of these things are issued on paper or in passports now; for non-EEA citizens they are biometric cards.

You will be required to give your fingerprints and have your photo taken (at your expense).

I believe you just use the normal form EEA(FM) if you are a direct family member or EEA(EFM) if extended family member. There is probably a section in there for people applying to replace the RC.

EDIT: it's worth noting that you are still allowed to use the old EEA2 form but you will need to pay the £65 fee and include the biometrics section from the new form if it's not in there already.

Any ideas on current timelines?

Also, what about the clock on my 5 years, would it start over again?
