Still have not received approval (NCS was done 31-03-2016)

Post by holaiker » Tue Jul 26, 2016 6:08 pm

Hi All

I did application with local council NCS at Bexley in Greater London on 31-03-2016

Money was taken from account on 21-04-2016

Biometrics was done on 30-04-2016

I can see from the forum that most of the people who applied in March received approval in June & July and many people who applied in April have also received approval.

But I have received nothing from HOME OFFICE.

Do you think i can call HOME OFFICE to check ? If it is OK, where can i find the number ?

Many thanks :-)

HO asks applicants to wait 6 months first.

Below is my 100% opinion and please keep in mind it depends on case to case

AN approval takes time when you are usually under following categories ( please note i am not saying its for all )
1) 10 Year route
2) Work as student
3) have Tax issues with HMRC
4) Conviction , police matters
5) gaps in immigration history
6) Points on License

some of these categories can lead to refusal as well

For clean cases like
1) 5 years TIER1 category , TIER2
2) No tax issues
3 Tax in good conditions
4) Overall clear immigration history

You still have to wait for 6 months in either case but if you go through clean cases you will end up within 3-4 months . It's my opinion and as i said earlier it depends on case to case

Good luck
Thanks

Hi

I qualified ILC through 5-year TIER-1 & do not have any illegal issues or points on license.

I can see most of people who applied around the same time received their approval by end of June...

If the wait is more than 6 months, which number can i use to contact them ?

HO will not entertain if you contact BEFORE 6 months.

People who applied around the same time have taken about 70 to 80 days for approval AFTER biometrics. Based on this your approval date is estimated at 19 July. So its ONLY a week delay.

Also if you look at March/April timelines average time from application date to biometrics is 20 days to 24 days. In your case this time alone is 30 days.

So could be your approval letter is already issued and is in transit. Some people have taken as long as 15 days to get the letter in post after issue.

If I was you, I would not worry until 5th August i.e allow one more week.

PS: Also not to forget this is holiday season. Most people go on leave during school holidays towards end of July until mid August. Like any other corporate office CO's are employees too and are entitled for holidays. I understand how killing the wait is but I would suggest have just a little bit more patience.

The HO won't respond to any enquiries made before the end of the 6 month period.
(Casa, not CR001)
Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

I can see from HO's website:
-----------------------------------------------------------
If we can’t make a decision within the service standards
If there is a problem with your application or if it is complex, we will write to explain why it will not be decided within the normal standard. We will write within the normal processing time for the 8 week standard and within 12 weeks for the 6 month standard. The letter will explain what will happen next.
-----------------------------------------------------------

If i have not received anything within the past 4 months, does that mean at least my case is not considered as COMPLEX and should be completed within standard service time frame ?

You cannot really read anything at all into HO response or lack of response.
Its just a case of wait and see. And wait for any explanatory letter.

I can see someone who applied in June has received approval...

I don't know why my case is being delayed for so long

Is there any possibility that the HO letter wasn't successfully delivered ?

I can see their number on the website.

If you are determined to ring the enquiry line then ring it. But please stop asking the same question here!

Your application has not been with HO six months yet, which is probably what you will be told when you call. And they won't give you any projected outcome date uf your application has not been decided. Other people's timelines are merely indicative. As we don't have access to your record on HO systems we can't say anything else.

The reason I'm asking is because I'm worried that it might have something to do with mail delivery. if my case has been approved but the letter wasn't delivered, whos gonna tell me the result? Has anyone run into an similar situation before?

Noone can really advise on your mail delivery.

Do you know the mailman/woman?
Is s/he overworked?
Is it likely s/he's throwing bags of mail away or stashing them in their loft?

Check the copy of your application form - is your address correct there?
Have you changed address recently?

Do you have shared front door / shared mail box?
Are you receiving other mail?
Have you lost other mail?
Do envelopes look as if they've been tampered with?

I have not changed my address

I have previously received biometric letter from HQ without any problem, so the address should be correct.

thats why im asking if anyone has experienced anything similar before.I know the postman, but how can he remember a letter that was not recorded. He delivered hundreds of letters & parcels in my area.

HO is uncommunicative at best of times and your 6 months is not yet up.
(In my wife's case we heard nothing at all, no communication whatsoever, from the beginning until the end).

Nothing to be done but sit tight really.

May I ask how long your wife waited before the result was received? & was it this year?

Around 4.5 months. Last year.
Your mileage may vary.

Hi

I can share my experience in terms of the naturalization process. While this was for my child, it can help give you a view of how things are. It took 111 days from the date of application to get my son's certificate. I can unerstand the agony that you are facing as I was in that situation for almost 2 months. The fact is there is no hard and fast rule on how long things take. Some applicants got the cetificate in 2 months, some in 3 and some waited almost 4 months. Looking at the post, someone mentioned rules that govern the tmeframe. It could be the reason but my application wait was for my child. I even contacted local MP but no help. Home office said no status update till 6 month SLA has passed.
I know it is not much help but it might help you feel a little less concerned if you knew that you are not the only one.

Feel free to personal message me if you need any information.

It has been nearly 6 months now.

I submitted on 31-03-2016. Half a year has almost passed...

I will start calling and writing on 01-10-2016.

Anyone on the same boat ?

Is it possible for me to find a barrister to sue HO onto court?

Not sure if you'll be able to build a case against HO, IMHO.

Citizenship is a privilege, not a right. They are not obliged to come back with an approval straight away, and the 6-moth period is a 'service standard', not a deadline. Some applications could take longer.

It's 2nd Oct now and the 6 months has passed.

Except the biometrics letter and a confirmation email, I have not received anything from HO so far.

How do u think I should contact HO? Call or Email?

Do you think I should ask our local MP to get involved now?

Many thanks

Hope your situation will get better . As 6 months has been passed , your best approach is contact HO and Local MP to see whats going on with your case . Try to get info about yourself held at police national computer to see if some thing unusual appear . Ho keeps your record , so better see whats SAR is saying as well

wish you best of luck! mate
Thanks
