Ilr long residency

Post by mando112 » Thu Jul 07, 2016 2:43 pm

Hi all,
I was on studen lt visa for 5 years and 2 years post study and coming to 2.6 years on t2 which currently i am on t2 dependent.

I used to be on t2 general. I want to apply for ilr in december.

Looking around internet there is no requirement for any funds for ilr . Please can you confirm?

I have seen some notes with people saying you need to show your income for last few years, is this for 5 year route?

Can i apply 1 month before becoming eligible (10 years) ?

If so can it be in person , premium service ?

I am looking to do my life test asap in next few weeks

Is it worth getting lawyer or mostly straight forward?

I really appreciate any input

No fund requirement for ILR based on long residence.

It is for ILR based on 5 years residence NOT 10 years ILR.

You can apply no sooner than within 28 days of reaching the 10 years residence, calculated from the date you originally ENTERED the UK.

Yes, you can apply in person.

Assuming you have a UK degree to meet the English language requirement too.
Is it worth getting lawyer or mostly straight forward?
No, a lawyer will make no difference to the outcome of your application. A lawyer will only cost you money.

Today I got my ILR LR through PSC.

I made my application 2 weeks before the 10 years completion date.

Everything went smoothly. No need to pay for lawyers, application was easy enough to complete by yourself.

Congrats. I am thinking of applying for ILR based on 10 yr stay. what documents are needed to show as proof of residence for last 10 yrs? are the visa stamps enough to show the dates?
also for the days out of country, are the immigration stamps sufficient to show?
I don't have any other proof! please suggest.

If you read the Set(LR) form and guidance notes, it tells you what you need to submit, i.e. all passports covering 10 years including the passport you entered on originally. You have to list your absences in the form where asked to do so.

ilr solicitor

Post by mando112 » Thu Jul 28, 2016 8:44 am

Hi All,

I will be applying for our ILR in few month .

Our case is straight forward but I still think I should hire a solicitor to ensure nothing goes wrong or I don't miss on anything.

has anyone used below firm ?

Please refrain from posting company/solicitor weblinks or information. It is against the forum T&Cs.

A solicitor will have no impact on your application and have no sway over HO, you either meet the requirements or you don't, simples. You will only be poorer given they charge stupid sums to effectively fill in a form and check a few documents.
