Switch from Tier 2 to Spouse Visa

Hi guys,

I'm a currently on a Tier 2 visa, I and my fiancee are considering switching my Visa to a Spouse visa.

I need clarification with the following:
1. Is there a minimum duration I need to have on my current visa to switch visa categories within the UK?
2. Do I and my fiancee (bristish citizen) need to plan to give 70days notice to the Registry before the planned wedding?
3. How important is it to our application to have Joint accounts?

I need clarification with the following:
1. Is there a minimum duration I need to have on my current visa to switch visa categories within the UK? No
2. Do I and my fiancee (bristish citizen) need to plan to give 70days notice to the Registry before the planned wedding? Wise to allow 70 days as when you register your intent to marry with a HO designated Registry Office, the Registrar will notify the HO who can then extend the notification period from 28 to 70 days in order to interview you both if they choose to do so, before the wedding can take place. Not every couple has the waiting period extended or are interviewed
3. How important is it to our application to have Joint accounts? Not important, but you should be able to submit evidence of a genuine relationship when you submit your FLR(M) application.

Are you able to meet the £18,600 p.a minimum income level? Switching to FLR(M) will reset your wife's immigration clock to zero, putting her on a new 5 year route to ILR, unless she qualifies for 10 year Long Residence before then.
