Applying Kid Passport from Abroad...

Post by methhyden » Fri Aug 05, 2016 7:57 pm

Hii everyone....

I would like to ask a quick query that would it be possible to apply a British Passport from back home for my 3 years Old Son who born in U.K. , after getting his Naturalisation Certificate as he has to travel and will be staying there for approximate 6 months.....

Thanks in advance...

A passport application from overseas can take 6-12 months.

Because they are processed in the UK and have to go through all the normal checks. It makes no difference where you are born or how you obtained citizenship, the same rules apply to all first passports.

If you have the child's registration certificate, you can apply for a child passport using the 1 week fast track service.

If you have a UK based address, there is nothing precluding the passport application from being made in the UK.
