My husband experienced the same.noajthan wrote:Even with valid ILR, warn wife to be prepared for and expect questions.
My wife was always being stopped and questioned on re-entry, sometimes quite intrusively, when she travelled home on annual family visits.
All par for the course I know but upsetting for a shy person especially when new to our ways.
Yes, that's what I have warned her. She will be away for 18 days only.noajthan wrote:Even with valid ILR, warn wife to be prepared for and expect questions.

That's not too bad, although to meet the new rules, we have to get a BPR card for her employment. I have filled in the NTL form ready for when she comes back. I am always anxious about immigration - I get a little paranoid thinking about it.Casa wrote:As far as my husband was concerned they asked basic questions...how did he get his ILR, where does he work, live etc. On the first occasion soon after being granted ILR they kept him waiting while they checked the validity of his visa on the system.

She arrived on a Spouse visa - did they just ask questions on family life or did they delve into other matters?
