Studying with EEA2 COA?

Post by kerdan » Thu Aug 11, 2016 3:37 pm

Hi everybody,

My situation is the following.
I am a doctoral student in his last year; however, my Tier 4 visa is about to expire. Recently I applied for a EEA2 residence card as the married partner of an EU national and we are waiting for the COA.
As I need a couple of extra months after Tier 4 expiration to wrap my studies, it is possible to stay as a regular student just by showing the COA or do I need to apply for a Tier 4 extension?

Thanks,

Ivan

Depends on uni.
They may or may not accept a COA. They may play hardball and wait until you have a RC.
Talk to uni - they have to be happy with your status as it reflects on them - and impacts their license.
