Tier-2 General Dependent Visa

Hi ,

I have TIER-2 general visa (COS for 5 years ) valid for 5 years .
I need to apply for dependent visa for my family . My query is that is it possible to
apply for dependent VISA only for three years for my family .

no, dependents visa is issued in line with main applicant.
5 years visa fee to be paid for all dependents, and IHS accordingly.

Does anyone has faced the similar situation in past?
I am also facing the same situation that I want to bring my dependents only for 3 years and i have a visa for 5 years.

What in case a person just has 3 years of valid visa remaining out of 5 years and he now want to bring the dependents?
Do he have to pay full 5 year fees and IHS.?

This is not documented in any Guidance but its written that a dependent visa is in-line with main applicant VISA.
But this implies that if main applicant visa is expired/curtailed/revoked etc then in that case dependent VISA also follows the outcome.

I mean to say that there is an upper limit to this but not bottom limit.

Please share your experiences as this is a major concern and I do not see much discussion about this on this broad.
