Cohabitation 2 Year Period

Post by madison81 » Mon Aug 15, 2016 8:31 pm

Hi,

I am applying via the FLR (m) for my wife. I just want to confirm whether the cohabitation period that they ask us to provide evidence for, is for the 2 years just before the application date or 2 years after we started living together or any period of 2 years where we have lived together?

I am applying tomorrow, can anyone please reply and advice as soon as possible. I will really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

hitting refresh button every 5 seconds now... please someone help me out.

The 2 year period prior to submitting the application.
6 pieces of evidence in joint names spread as evenly as possible from at least 3 different sources
or
12 in single names (6 each)
Any correspondence with date, name & address will be accepted.

Thank you very much Casa... really appreciate your reply..
just a small query on this...
My wife and I are living together since May 2007 when my wife entered UK.
The FLR (M) form states the following:

" Six items of correspondence addressed to you and your partner at the same address as evidence that you have been living together since your last grant of leave in this category, or from the date you first started living together up to a maximum of two years. "

does this not mean that we need to provide evidence dating May 2007 till May 2009??
this is just a doubt... any help will be crucial here...thank you so so so so much ..

and also, we only have a combination of correspondence..
I mean the form asks for either 6 in joint or 12 in single...

I have 3 in joint but not covering the full 2 year period..
around 12 or 13 single...covering 2 year period..

will this work??

This will be fine.

It is the LAST TWO YEARS prior to application, not 2007-2009. HO was to be sure of 'subsisting marriage'.

When was your wife's visa issued (which you're extending now)? Why do you think you're being asked to go back 7 years to 2009? :?

Edit: Beaten by CR001

My wife entered UK as a student dependent in 2007 , then i got PSW and then tier 1 [2 plus 3], i didn't wait for my +3 years on tier 1 as i had finished 10 years in this country. so i got ilr on long residency route last year in september 2015, but now my wife has only option to go for flr m.. even though she has lived here for over 9 years now..she also paid the £500 health surcharge.which i think is ridiculous..

am i doing the right thing in applying for flr m for my wife? i have enough documents to prove that we have lived together since last 9 years...

my wife's latest visa is PBS dependent issued in August 2013 for 3 years.

am i doing the right thing here? ihope so...

thanks alot for this help CASA... appreciate it

FLR(M) is her only option. She cannot extend her PBS dep visa. This would only have been possible IF you applied for and got ILR based on PBS route and 5 years residence.

When does your wife reach 10 years long residence?

You don't need document to prove the last 3 years. You ONLY need documents for the last TWO YEARS.

yes you are doing correctly, unfortunately this is the only option. But good thing is after 1 year your wife will be able to apply for ILR on long residency on her own (9+1) , that is the only good thing :D
