I was offered a one-day a week job, just freelance contract work at a university.
I am currently on a Tier 2 Visa at another employer doing similar work.
The university now says they wont be taking me on for this supplementary work because "‘secondary’ employment can be undertaken without need for a new Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) within the same company but for employment in other places a new CoS is required and we can only do that for certain jobs on the skills shortage list which are compliant with recruitment legislation meaning the job would need to be a real ‘post’ and be advertised for a minimum of 4 weeks."
Is this true? Does anyone know anything about this?
From what I understand in the guidance for visa holders is I can take on supplmentary work without informing the Home Office as long as the job would fall under the same job code.
