Documents required for ILR application

Post by Infofreak » Thu Aug 18, 2016 11:03 am

Hello all..

I have recently been granted FLR (LR) after a long wait of 2 years. They took 8 months to give the 1st decision of refusal to which i applied to JR, then they said they will reconsider and finally got the visa for 2 yrs. This whole process cost me a lot of money and i was not allowed to work during these 2 yrs. Therefore, i want to apply for ILR by myself if it is straight forward. Please help!

History:
Have been here as a student since 2005-2014. Was short by 6 months for ILR. Therefore applied for entrepreneur visa which was refused. Then appealed until it was exhausted. By then i reached the 10 yr threshold. But could not apply for ILR as i could not give my LIUK without my passport as it was the form of ID i had. Applied for FLR(LR) which took 2 yrs as i mentioned earlier.

Now, I want to apply for ILR asap. My question now is:

1. The application form i use is SET(LR)?
2. What are the documents required?
(I am confused with people providing payslips and work letter etc. And in some posts i read only passport, LIUK and English/degree certificate is all that is needed. Please clear this for me.)
3. If i go for same day service, I take the filled up form with me and not fill up online form?
4. For same day service, i just book the appointment online and take the required docs with me on the day and that is all?
5. Do i need to show any funds maintenance/bank statement?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Yes

Payslips, employment letters, bank statements etc is ONLY required if you DO NOT have ALL the passports, including the one you entered the UK on.
3. If i go for same day service, I take the filled up form with me and not fill up online form?
You fill in the paper form by hand.
4. For same day service, i just book the appointment online and take the required docs with me on the day and that is all?
Book appointment, pay online for your application and then attend appointment with your documents
5. Do i need to show any funds maintenance/bank statement?
ONLY if you DO NOT have all your passports.

Thank you very much CR001. You have made it much easier for me to understand. I have seen your replies to other posts too and it is always very clear and to the point.

I have one more question.
Do i need to have some sort of court letter for the duration my appeal was going on. I dont seem to have it. Will that be a problem u think?
The home office had sent me the list of my history in the UK which details everything while the jr was in process.

Also I have all my passport and the bio-metric card. So all i need to take with me is my passports (which has the stamp of my entries) LIUK & degree certificate. that is all right?

Shouldn't the Set(LR) be very straight forward as they have stated & agreed that they are satisfied for my 10 years legal in the UK and given me FLR(LR).

CR001 is currently taking a well deserved holiday and will be away from the forum for a while.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
