Tourist visa for failed Asylum Seeker

Post by bayatoun » Sat Sep 03, 2016 6:52 pm

Hi All,

I am currently on a Tier 2 visa (A Sponsor), I am 23 and have been working for 2 years. I also studied in the UK for 4 years. My boyfriend (soon 23) and I would like to apply for a tourist visa for him to come visit. A couple of points make me question the way to proceed.

1- He is still studying back in our home country and I am thinking they might think he wants to come in and never go back.
2- He has previously been in the UK on a tourist visa and applied for Asylum whilst on that visa. He stayed in the UK for 2 or 3 years but his case got rejected and he decided to leave the country last year to return to our home country.

What are the chances of them granting him a tourist visa? What can we do to ensure it works? We genuinely want him to come visit me as I only have 28 days holiday a year and for a long distance relationship this isn't enough.

Many thanks for your help

1) Yes 'they' will.

2) Past behaviour is taken into consideration; odds are low to zero.

HO doesn't do 'bf/gf lets see how it goes'-types of visas.
You need to find another way to manage this relationship. Or bite the bullet and marry.

Cheers thanks a lot for your answer, I guess I did expect it but it is always worth asking.
