Indefinate leave to remain obtained in 2003

Post by ILR10YEARBASIS » Thu Sep 15, 2016 8:43 pm

My family friend had obtained Indefinate leave to remain in 2003 on the basis of married to British Citizen. They have two children both British Citizens. They left the UK in 2004 and lived overseas till to date ,the whole family.

Now they want to come to UK for visiting family members.

Is the ILR still valid ? ( he just have a sticker in his passport confirming indefinate leave to remain )

IF the ILR is NOT valid , how can he travel to UK with his wife and kids ?

Thanks in advance

ILR would have become void after 2 years of absence from the UK. The husband will need to apply for a visitor visa.

Is he planning to move back permanently or temporarily?

If permanent move - Returning resident visa.

If temporary visit - Visit visa (as advised by Casa).

Just curious to know if they return with Resident Visa as have stayed more than 2 years out of UK but had ILR, when will they regain the ILR status again when they are back in UK?

Have you clicked on the link and read through what it says?

Unlikely the OP would get one as has been out of the UK for 13 years.
