Employment gap on Tier 2

Post by absab » Mon Sep 19, 2016 6:45 pm

When changing the employer on Tier 2 visa there could be a couple of weeks gap in the employment history while waiting for the new Tier 2 visa to be issued. Does this affect the ILR application? Thank you.

Most Tier 2 G migrants wait for the new visa before resigning from their job.

What circumstances are there that you are not with your sponsor while waiting to apply for a new visa?

page 22
Holidays taken on the conclusion of employment
Where an applicant’s continuous residence period includes time spent as a Tier 2 migrant or a work permit holder, annual leave can include a short holiday taken on conclusion of employment, if the applicant made an immigration application to work for a new employer within 60 days of the conclusion of the previous employment

However please note that it is not advisable to start your employment before getting your BRP card.
