TIER 2 dependent right to work

Post by jodil » Tue Sep 20, 2016 11:08 am

Dear All,

I am currently working under Tier 2 General Visa and my wife has got a new job, but her new employer knows nothing about the rights to work for Tier 2 Dependant and they are asking for copies of my Visa and Passport. Please could you provide me some links from Government Official Website which states about the Dependant's Work rights so that she can send to her prospective employer, I had a look on the official website and but can't find anything which says about Dependent's work right.

Any employer worth their salt would know to start here:
https://www.gov.uk/check-job-applicant-right-to-work
and refer to:

Dear noajthan,

Thanks for your swift response. But could you post any links that mention about Dependent's right to work, because my wife's employer is not very convinced with her rights and that's why they tell her to give copies of my Passport and Visa. I don't want to give it because this has nothing to do with her job and it's my personal information.

Why are you doing employer's job.
Tell them to start with those links and to contact UKVI.
Then invoice them for doing their work.

her visa should state what she can and cannot do as well..
as a dependent she is not allowed to work as a doctor or dentist in training. not allowed as a sportsman. other than that, she is allowed work as per her visa shows.
