U.K. Spouse visa and NHS charge

Post by shadiasim4 » Sun Sep 25, 2016 4:05 pm

Hi all,

Just a quick question, I'm reading up about applying for my husband to come and settle in UK.

I have come across the part where it says I have to pay the NHS charge? If he is given e visa for 33months ( which I think is the standard for married route) then does that mean I have to pay £600 at the time of application.

Also, my company has private medical insurance which I am on and my husband will qualify for it as well since he is a spouse. Will I still have to pay NHS or can I get my health insurance to write a letter confirming he is enrolled on the insurance?

Thanks,

Yes, he has to pay £600 IHS.

You/he being on private medical insurance is irrelevant and DOES NOT exempt him. He still has to pay the IHS.
