DL Expired in July 2016, Need to renew

Hello

My wife's DL expired in July 2016 and we did not find out until yesterday when we went to bank to apply for mortgage.

She got this DL based on family life, 3 british citizen kids.

We are going to apply for extension this week and was wondering will there be any serious issues?

What supporting documents do we need to provide? I will write a covering letter explaining why we are renewing late.

Any more suggestions please?

Hello, sorry to bother experts again but could i get some advice please.

Do we need to apply using FLR FP form?

How do we determine if we quality for 5 year or 10 year route?

Should she apply as Partner or Parent route?

We genuinely forgot the date to renew and always thought it was due in Feb 2017. Can we explain this in covering letter and will caseworker overlook it and grant leave?

She has been in UK since 2007 and have lived legally and as over stayer during 9 years.

apply on the same route like before family life route and better explain in writing, its totally upto them, what they do? apply as soon as possible.

You could well be right. I missed the fact that the previous visa was granted under DL.
