Question on Resident Labor Market Test

Post by Gokull12 » Fri Oct 07, 2016 10:39 pm

Hi,

Can anyone please let me know about the labor market test needs ?

If my job offer is automobile sector and comes under Shortage occupation list does the company still need to do RLMT ?

Hi Gokull12,

Must required a RLMT where,

1. ER wants to employ someone from outside the UK.
2. Someone switching to Tier 2 General (i.e. Tier 4 dependent) via experienced entry.

If you are switching from Tier 4, you do not need a RLMT. But if you are not job in shortage occupation list doesn't help to avoid RLMT. It will help you to have better point when ER applies for cos.

Hope this clarifies.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply

Please see the below link

It clearly states that You may need to advertise the job you’re offering if it’s not on the shortage occupation list

My job code is 2124 Which is Electronics Engineer. The job offer that I received is from Automobile industry. So why do I need a resident labor market test?
