IELTS A1 exam before or after marriage?

Post by rajinder93 » Sat Oct 08, 2016 12:25 pm

Hi everyone, I got engaged to my fiancé this year in March at India and we are planning to get married next year in March. She is studying for her IELTS A1 life skills exam and she wants to take the exam before the marriage but she told me that her teacher said she cannot take the exam before marriage she has to take the exam after marriage but is this true regarding the IELTS A1 exam that she has to take after marriage has anyone had this issue?

Of course your fiancee can take the A1 test before the marriage. :!:

As the teacher seems to be confused, do ensure that she is taking a test from an UKVI approved test provider. See the following link:

(Scroll down for the test centres outside of the UK)

Thanks for both of you helping out. Me and fiancée both seems to be confused I even asked Gurpal Uppal on the radio and he even said she can take before the marriage. My fiancée said the teacher wants a proof of marriage like court marriage so that she can fill out in the form when she takes the test I just really confused and stressed out :?

The teacher is 100% wrong, which should be a matter of concern. Is there a financial advantage for the teacher if the test is delayed?

Where in India will your fiancee be taking the test?

There have been no statements by UKVI that IELTS will be changing in 2017 or that current tests will be invalid.
