Dear team.
I am on a tier 2 ict visa long term which is in the process of extension. I should have my new CoS by end of October and I plan to apply for my visa in 1st week of November.
My wife's employer is considering to issue an independent COS for her under tier 2 general. The process of advertising is underway and hoping that her COS should be applied for in the November cycle (4th cut off).
Is it ok if the two processes run in parallel? My wife is not entirely sure if her employer will sponsor her and so she wants to extend her current dependent visa with me. Hence there is a strong possibility of her dependent visa being processed and her independent COS (not visa) being applied for during the same time.
Once she gets her independent COS plan is to go to India in December switch from dependent tier 2 ICT to independent tier 2 general. My current tier2 ICT visa expires in early jan 2017
Please advise
Thanks

the process can be run in parallel, but not the application. she can only apply for one visa at a time.
Doing two applications not only means 2 fees, it also means 2 IHS fees.

Tier 2 ICT and Dependents is exempt from the IHS fee.

Thanks both.
@CR001 would you also agree that the two can run in parallel please.i.e. my wife applies as a dependent applicant with me for tier 2 ict extension while her employer processes her tier 2 general CoS in parallel.
Also can you please let me know that given the cut off date for tier 2 general each month is the 4th, does the COS have to be generated before that deadline. And is it a simple online application that the employer has to submit for the 4th deadline or is there more to it. The HR in my wife s organisation is new and is not aware of the process herself. Hence requesting inputs. Thank you for your time.

She cannot have two VISA APPLICATIONS in at the same time, as iworker has advised already.

@CR001 @iworker. Thank you both. Just to summarise her visa application as my dependent and her CoS processing can be done at the same time. once her dependent visa is extended she can then apply for tier 2 general from home country. Is that correct please. Kindly confirm.

Yes, that is correct. Seems a shame to pay so much in visa fees though.
