Confusion over delivery of first British passport

Dear Friends ,

I had a successful interview for my first British passport on 17th of September 2016 . Since I live in a shared accommodation I had requested my passport to be delivered to my employer's address when I made my passport application to the Home Office . I had also submitted a letter from my employer in this regard stating that he is happy to receive my passport at his address .
However , after my interview I got a call from the passport office and they said that though I had mentioned this in my application to the Home office and also submitted a letter from my employer , I would need to send another letter to the Passport Office and also another letter from my employer stating that he is happy to receive my passport at his address .
As instructed I wrote another letter and had one more letter from my employer and sent them to the Passport Office .
One week later I got a letter from the passort office saying that I need to attend an interview . But no reason was mentioned as to why I should attend the second interview . I called the passort office and they confirmed that they have received both of the letters that I had sent them a week ago and the "Examiner" has mentioned in his comments that he is happy to receive the evidence of alternative address for the delivery of passport .
However , nothing was mentioned by the examiner after that , as to whether my passport is being issued . Nor it was mentioned that I need a second interview or the reason for a second interview . Nothing was mentioned about a second letter of interview being sent to me .
So the person at the phone told me that I don't need to attend a second interview and this letter had probably been generated in error .
Two days later I called the passport office again to confirm any update , however there was no further information updated on my file . In fact the lady on the phone told me that she cannot confirm whether I need to attend a second interview . I called passport office again after two days and they said that it appears that I don't need to attend a second interview but they cannot confirm it and so they are referring my case to a senior officer who can advise whether I need to attend a second interview .
It has been more than a week again and the status remains unchanged , the people on the phone cannot confirm whether I need to attend a second interview and my case has been referred to the senior officer , but they are stating that it could be that I get the answer in one day or it could be a few weeks . So after several phone calls I still have no answer and I don't know what to do .
I have to travel to India and get my OCI card which takes some time to come . This delay is causing me a huge deal of stress besides delaying my travel .
I would be grateful to you friends if you could advise what is the best course of action for me .
