Apply for ILR (10 yrs long residence) early

I'd like to find out how early can be applied for ILR. I know, HO rules says you can apply before 28 days but has anyone tried or applied before 28 days time period e.g 3-4 months early.

Is it worth applying that early if suppose your history is cleared and current visa has got expires time until 2018 on tier 2 - General.

Is it worth applying that early if suppose your history is cleared and current visa has got expires time until 2018 on tier 2 - General. NO. It will be refused as invalid and you will lose the application fee.

Why would you risk so much money by applying to early if you have a valid visa till 2018. Patience!!
