Tier 2 NHS bands

Post by Freaky773 » Sun Nov 20, 2016 2:31 pm

Hi,

I am currently working in the UK on a tier 2 visa (shortage occupation/sponsored) as a Paramedic at NHS band 5. Recently the government has decided to re-band paramedics who were working before September this year to band 6. This obviously involves a substantial pay rise. However I have heard various rumours that us international paramedics on tier 2 visas will not be given this pay rise as is isn't reflected in our initial visa/Cos.

Just wondering if anybody has any ideas on this? We are not changing jobs/job descriptions or employers, can we now be paid at a band 6 rate despite our original visa giving a band 5 salary range?

Should be fine.
If there is a nation wide policy, i dont think they will not increase your band just cos the initial cos was issued to lower band.
Promotions and salary hikes are normal.
